John “Born in East  LA” Rodriguez started playing drums at 13 in the Cal State Los Angeles school of the arts conservatory in 1982, while attending middle school at Griffith Junior high. He furthered his drumming chops as a member of the award wining Garfield High School Marching Band.

While in high school he played in rock bands alongside acts like Poison, Warrant, Faster Pussycat and Guns and Roses just to name a few. Playing LA club scene like the Roxy, Gazarri's and the Troubadour and lets not forget the Cat House (Oh! the memories).

At 19 John left the music scene completely to raise a family, but music being embedded in his life John answered a call from Dennis and Richard to return to music with "Betty" early in early 2007.
